New web site designed by moms who hope to help others find the best info By Julie Huss DERRY NEWS STAFF ANNABELLA AND EMILY are the best of toddler buddies and at 2 ½ years old, they have got the inside scoop on some of the most fun things to do. That's because their moms have created a special place where children and their parents can find easy access to area attractions, programs, and events that will keep families happy and in touch with their region. Lisa Lividoti and Deborah Duggan have forged not only a friendship but a worthwhile business venture with the creation of their new Web site - . The site caters to families and children and offering extensive listings and information about what's available in the area in the way of library programs, events, shows, crafts, classes and child care services. The site also lists services, maps, coupons and ideas for parent getaways as well as links to other informative sites that can help young parents and families keep up to date on all that's going on. Lividoti and Duggan are longtime friends who first met at a playgroup. Now that both women live with their families in Nashua, Annabella and Emily still see a lot of each other while their mothers work on the Web site, using past experience in the business world and the new experiences as young mothers as a tool to make the site successful. "I was doing Web development for about four years," Lisa said, "and I saw a need for it." Duggan came in to the Internet mix with a strong marketing background that worked well with Lividoti's creative Web design experience. As mothers of two young toddlers, the women were always looking for something fun and interesting to do. The new site gives parents a chance to check out a vast resource of information to help with their child's needs. "It's a place where you can find a lot of information in one step," Duggan added, " and it includes coupons and photographs." Lividoti called the site a sort of "yellow pages" of information, but it also offers much more like listings of all the local libraries and story hour times, plus directions and maps to find the destination of choice. Features like the Photo of the Month and the Spotlight Corner can put children in the forefront with special pictures and artwork they have created. The two women encourage parents to send in photos or nominations for the Spotlight Corner as they browse the site. Lividoti said she and Duggan tried to make the site as personal as possible and make it feel like it is coming from the hearts of two young mothers who want to help others find fun things to do and useful information. Lividoti, who is expecting her second child in a few months, said the site stands out among its competition thanks to that personal touch. The site has been up and running for several months and the list of visitors is growing, with over 500 people visiting the site on the average every month. The women hope to expand their site to include places and resources in Vermont and Massachusetts and also hope to include e-mail so visitors can send in their ideas and suggestions. "This Web site is like a hobby," Lividoti said, "and it's such a team effort for us right now, both work wise and personality wise." The two friends will continue to find things to do with their young daughters, like enjoying playgrounds and libraries and will continue to try to be as creative as possible when planning things to do with the girls. They hope their new Web site will also offer creative ideas and information for parents all over the region who might need a bit of help in finding an event or a bit of knowledge about children or parenting. "As a mom, [I asked myself] what would I like to know?" Livodoti said, "and we came up with a list as parents." That list has grown now into a worthwhile business venture, but also a labor of love for these two young mothers who hope to engage more parents in a helpful way to find interesting things to do with their children. The Web site is located at .
